St. Andrews by Night...

Easter Sunday was a very splendid day. Tim took off back to Glasgow, and I was invited to join the Kinnears for an Easter Feast in Crail. Following the meal, Fiona and I were titled croquet champions.
Back at the Kinnear residents, was able to have a brief visit with Ben as he was just back from his surf trip to Portugual, and on his way back to Uni in Aberdeen. That night went out to a big club in Dundee with Duncan and company, and randomly managed to run into Madras Physics pal James R...very strange being the biggest club in the city.
Wednesday was my last day with the lovely Kays, and I was off to St Andrews to stay with the Kinnears for a few nights. That night, went out with Dunc, Stew and Dan. Started off the night in this cool cafe that we were able to bring wine into and have a cool atmosphere to drink in.
Friday was much the same, but this time Ben managed to come out for a bit as well before heading off to Switzerland early the next day.
And later today, I shall be off to Glasgow for Tims shin diggidy!

St. Andrews Links

On Wednesday, I got a ride into St. A's with Billy and wandered the streets before meeting up with James Kennedy, and Duncan and Hamish Kinnear for a 3 o'clock game of golf. Despite my poor abilities, and strong winds, it was a good laugh. That night, stayed up a little late and ended up sleeping unil 1pm on Thursday. At that time, I took a bus into Dundee to go swimming at the Olympia Leisure Centre. I managed to get 2000m in! (Can't remember the last time I did that...) Instead of bussing it back to Newport, I decided to walk around the streets a little bit and then walk across the mile long bridge that is over the Firth of Tay.
When I returned back to the Kay quarters, the oldest sister Joanna was there, and that night we had a wonderful Scottish meal that included some of the finest Haggis, potatoes and Turnips.
Tim came back to St Andrews on Friday, and after a visit to the driving range, Cat, James, Tim and myself gathered at the Ennis' domicile before heading out to the bar to meet up with som more long time haven't seen faces: Andrew Whiteford, Mary Arskins and Sarah. It was a pretty mellow night and Duncan was out as well. Before the bar closed, we headed to the Union (University Bar) but since Selkirk College wasn't affiliated with St. Andrews Uni, I wasn't allowed in. We then cabbed it back to Tims house and partied til the early morn.
Saturday, wasn't feeling the greatest, but still managed to play a round of golf with Tim and Jon Waldie. It was a much better game then my previous, but still not too hot. Saturday night wasn't especially thrilling. I again spent the night at Tims house and just watched a few films with him and Jon.

Glasgow Parties & Falkland Palace

Saturday night managed to meet up with Olivia for a wee visit before she went off to a show. While she was enjoying her live music, I met up with Tim who had just got back from the French Alps. It was a long travel day for him, so he went to bed and I went to the ABC club to meet up with Oli and company. It was quite the turn out at the place, like most places in Glasgow (on the right night). We stayed for a bit, then headed back where I crashed at Oli's place and slept my jet lag off...12 hours woot woot!
That next day, moved into Tims place and we tried our luck to see Jazzy Jeff, but the club was too full and there was no way of us getting in unless 50 people decided to leave. On that note, we went to a smaller, but just as happening club up a few blocks. The Sunday night turned out to be a better laugh then Saturday, and cheaper as well!
Monday, I hopped on a bus to St. Andrews where I was surprised to be greeted by Catriona and her mother. Us three and Euan went out to a very tasty Indian restaurant in Dundee, rented a movie (the Life Aquatic) and then headed to the Kay quarters. I have a great suite just attached to the side of the house, and a incredibly comfy bed.
Today, Catriona, her mother and I went to Falkland to see the beautiful Palace...quite a bit of History to take in at once, but very cool nonetheless.
Mr. Billy Kay arrived back tonight, and we had a big Spaghetti feast! The Kay's are such a wonderful family and exceptionally nice!
Tomorrow, I will most likely head to St Andrews with Billy, and pay the Kinnears a visit!

The Time Warp

Left South Slocan on Monday evening (April 3rd), and took the Greyhound to Vancouver where I had the pleasure of staying with Nadine Harris. Unfortunately, she was very busy finishing up school, so I basically just ventured around the city on my own for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday night I went to Devin and Josh's apartment, where I visited with them, Zac and Mark Blackwell. Wednesday, I went to visit Grandma, Granddad and Uncles Brian and Robert. Thursday was plane day, and flew out of Vancouver at 3pm. What a time warp, because arrived in Glasgow at 7am Friday morning. I think I am still a bit spacey from it.
I was questioned alot at Customs, I think primarily because I filled out my entry card incorrectly. After a quick breakfast, took the airport shuttle into city centre and walked to the Westend to check into the Youth Hostel. I didn't get a bed until noon, but at that time I went to sleep until 8pm (local time). I then got up and wandered down to The Stand Comedy Club, where I was able to see some quality British stand up. I'll wander the city today, given that it isn't too cold or wet. The climate here isn't Mitchell friendly...below 10'C, windy and wet.
